When I was in school I had written novels and short stories that I haven’t really finished or shared to anyone else. I’m adding a new part to my blog dedicated to posting works (creative writing) I created. Let me know what you think ;)

This is the first novel I’ve written regarding 2 girls in the present and in the past. After series of events, their worlds collide making chaos to everyone the live with. What caused the switch? Why were they switched?

This was written back in 2011. This title page was done using Ms Word. I feel nostalgic :)

This is a story of two different people, a tale like no other, it cannot be compared to the prince and the pauper, the Cinderella story, or even the time traveler; it’s just a simple account about worlds that are poles apart, that is about to change.

Chapter 1: The Planning

I can smell of the fragrant scent in the air, as I savor the hot chocolate drink made from the richest coco anyone can find. Dressed in the prettiest gown the finest tailor had hand sewn exquisitely, I begin my taste to the luxurious banquet placed in front of me, and then, a sudden action startled me, like I was taken back to a whole new era. Whip! The sound of a ruler belonging to the meanest teacher ever to live in mankind, hitting my desk; he looked at me and muttered, “Are you supposed to be the study body president?, The role model of the entire school?, well I see that voters today overlooked the incompetent abilities of their leaders, now answer my question president sleep, Who is the only crowned prince of England assassinated without an heir, witness or even a single individual to bring justice and peace to his name and to the land?” I froze, I can’t think of a name, or even a guess to answer Mr. Prat’s question, I heard a voice from the back questioning the instructor, I don’t know what got into him, but I was thankful for his brave objection. “Mr. Prat?” he said, “Yes Mr. Johnson?” They both conversed, “I had read the literature about England’s historical monarchies provided by the national education council, but I can’t seem to find that figure anywhere, are you sure that there is such a person?” As soon as he questioned, the school bell rang; I felt a sense of relief to end the class.

“Introducing, the daughter of Duke La March, Lady Maria Margarette Evangeline La March;” I feel greatness as I enter the hall. I can see the pleasant smiles and encouraging looks in the crowds’ faces. It is the first time I am introduced as the potential wife of the future sovereign. I feel honored, blessed and afraid of the upcoming events that is to occur in my life, I can now tell that the happenings within my surroundings and the actions that I commit, shall be known to all of the realm, and one mistake can destroy the hope of the nation.

“That was close;” said by the admirable, wealthy, handsome and utmost respectable Michael Pierre Johnson, or maybe the other way around. He is a close friend of mine, we practically grew up together, I have his back and he has mine too. “I think sleeping is vital for young people and it provides us with hormones that enable us to be active in our everyday lives.” I said,”Well, Ms. Margarette Mitchell,” he responded, “why didn’t you answer the dude when he was asking you? Can a guy get thanks for saving a female’s chance to be in detention? ” I answered in reply, “Okay Michael, I know that I owe you a big thank you, but that doze to Dreamville gave me an idea for the next seniors’ dance.” He didn’t say anything, but I figured he was imagining my plan, “Humm, should I give a conjecture? Or to you want me to presume that it was a good idea?” He snickered as he finished his statement. “Stop mocking me!” I told him, “I believe that it is a splendid idea. A royal ball, like in the time of the queens and kings, Students dressed up in ties and gowns, dancing gracefully, and we can design the whole gym as if we were in a fairy tale, I think that this is going to be a party no one will ever forget.“

“Hello, My Lady.” The tall, middle aged gentlemen came across me and greeted me reverently. Honestly, I had never thought that people from the higher monarch would be so courteous. I don’t understand how they can live their life so normal, and yet still have an extraordinary impact to the people. “Greetings your Grace, I hope to extend my gratitude for inviting me to the celebration, I am deeply sorry that my folks cannot be with us today because of my father’s illness. He has been sick for days, and he thinks that it would be inappropriate if he came, due to his lack of assurance that he might spoil the night.” “No, no darling, tell the Duke that I am concerned about his health and may he recover from the disease so that we can start planning for the wedding, don’t you think?” “Yes your majesty that would be a grand idea. By the way, I don’t see his highness, is he here?

“Sarah, would you please lend me your ears!” The prince held the servant’s hand forcibly that the maid can’t resist. “Forgive me your highness; if I stand in your presence, I believe that your fiancée is waiting for you outside. I shall prepare your shoes for your departure.” the monarch angrily replied, “I order you to stop acting like you don’t know me for one second.” “No, your grace, I am well aware of your existence and respect your status in this country. I also know what place I belong, and what is purpose in life, my future; forgive me for talking too much my prince.“Stop it Sarah! I know that you think and believe that I am a prince that is about to wed and have a commitment, but you should also know, that this prince is also a lad, whose heart beats for a beautiful lady, she might not be perfect, nor come from an influential family, however, I realize that the lad, and lady have feelings for one another that no marital arrangement made by the monarchs can tear it apart. Have faith in me Sarah, we can be together someday.”

“His Excellency, Pierre Michael Albert, the Prince.” Everyone’s eyes looked at the eminence as he took his step down the staircase; he was admirable, handsome, he was so perfect. I don’t know if I was just shocked with his appearance, I have been acquainted with him since nativity, but I never felt this reaction to his presence. What I know is that I can feel a crush, or maybe an extremely positive emotion for my soon husband, I don’t know if it was love, but I know that I have strong sentiments for him.

“My King, My Lady, I ask clemency for my late presence.” The prince’s eyes seem to be troubled but his magnificent features were to overpowering that his elegance is profoundly shown. “Son, I suppose this is the accurate occasion to inform the public with your union to Duke La March’s daughter Lady Maria Margarette.” I froze. I am nervous at the same time happy to be known as the fiancée of the gorgeous prince. “I agree your grace. I think that we should take this opportunity to let the populace be acquainted with the new figures that will be joining the royal family.” I smiled. I don’t know if my opinion was asked that moment, but my urge to let his majesties notice that I wasn’t just an ordinary offspring of a duke that will marry a royal. “According to proper imperial etiquette, if your view was not inquired, you are not to contribute it. Sometimes, it’s preeminent to keep it to yourself.” I feel that the ground beneath me is about to swallow thy self alive. My impression to the prince was a complete failure. I can now say that he is not blissful about the thought of having me as a future spouse.

“I tell you it’s the best idea! We are to come down to the best councils of this whole school! So, what do you think?” I am too excited to tell my subordinates my plan for the upcoming activity; I wanted to get feedback, and I actually did. ”Marge, can I ask you something?” “What Richard? Where are we to get the budget to have a royal party? There are only few who can afford to buy or rent chic clothing and a little population in our student body that is willing to donate or even help in the preparations. How sure are you that you can pull it off?” The excitement in my voice trampled. I had always hated Richard Blake, I have thought of ways to let him agree of what I say or leave the committee, but he is just to full of himself that his ego is too big that no one can say no to his ideas. It’s despicable. “I guess if I talk to the principal, I could ask him if we can solicit to companies to provide us with the money to spend for the dance. Trust me, we can do this. Meeting adjourned.”

I’ll be posting Chapter 2 in the next week :)
