DevFest x BizFest Cebu 2018 Press Conference at Inspire Team Office
Main organizers of DevFest x Bizfest Cebu held a media day for members of the press last October 17, 2018 at Inspire Team Office, 8th Floor, Mabuhay Tower, Cebu IT Park.
The event was started with an introduction to each track’s program for DevFest x Bizfest Cebu 2018 this coming October 27 at the Summit Galleria Cebu.
Lead Community Manager, Shad Roi de la Cruz gave everyone a brief history of Google Developers Group who is celebrating its 10th year anniversary this year. As the goal of the group in the previous years was ‘growth’ this year, they wanted to provide an environment that promotes sustainability both in quality of audience and knowledge gathered after each event.
Communications Manager, Frances Marie Teves stated that this year DevFest will be opening its doors for open source projects and prototypes for local developers in Cebu and its nearby cities.
Womenwill lead for Google Business Group Cebu, Maryanne Apale and Community Manager Nicole Padin shared about the topics and workshops for BizFest track, highlighting the “How to start a startup workshop for entrepreneurs who want to venture to the startup world”. They also expressed that business should be able to adapt and grow together with tech as it changes every day. The talks and sessions on DevFest x BizFest Cebu are relevant whether you’re starting a business or reshaping it to follow the trend.
The press conference then focused on talks of Artificial Intelligence, how both developers and business should be open to this new technology that will be a game changer in the future. As DevFest BizFest Cebu 2018 will be having a deep learning workshop of the basics of Machine Learning by 2 Google Developer Experts from Singapore.
